Walls have the power to absorb and transport us, as they have across times and cultures. We humans have an ongoing dialogue with walls. I entered this conversation when I first discovered the architect Carlo Scarpa’s powerful plaster walls in Verona’s Museo di Castlevecchio. Since then, creating walls of strength and beauty has been a passionate part of my creative process through residential and public commissions.
A “Dialogue With Walls” refers not only to the Walls/murals but also to the many ways they have fed back into and expanded my studio practice.
